Frequently Asked Questions
When can I move back into my home?
Everyone is different. It depends on how sensitive you are to the smell. We recommend 24-48 hours, but you need might need to leave it a little longer.
How much for a meter squared?
Most times we need to see the floor to give you an accurate quote. You can email through pictures of the current floor and explain what you want and we can quote from that information. It also depends on the configuration of the floors, a 60 meters squared open space rumpus room is different to 60 meters squared in an old home where everything is small – hallway, laundry, wardrobes, bedrooms.
How long will the new floor last?
There are many factors that determine how long a floor will last. Your lifestyle, how well you take care of the floor, how often you clean the floor, how often you wash the floor are some of the factors that will determine the life of the floor.
Who is going to move the furniture?
We can help with moving furniture. We assess each job on a case-by-case basis, especially when it comes to bigger pieces of furniture and expensive items. Everyday pieces of furniture are usually no problem.
What can I expect when I get my floorboards sanded and polished?
1. Nails punched
2. Holes filled with appropriate filler
3. There may be variation in colour and grains between new and old floorboards
4. There may be markings on skirting boards from contact with the floor edges
What is not fixed when floorboards are sanded or polished?
1. A dust free finish, there will always be dust particles. Even without industry leading machines.
2. Any area filled with putty will not have the same feel as the timber.
3. The same gloss level in floorboards affected by borers as those without borers
4. Shrinkage and expansion of timber means we will not fill the gaps between floorboards because cracking of the filler may occur.
5. We can’t guarantee removal of certain stains, like watermarks or animal urine.
6. Deep cuts in the boards will not be removed.
